• Commissioned, with partners from Brunel, Cardiff, Staffordshire and Worcester Universities, to provide
recommendations to the Financial Services Authority (FSA) on the continuing professional development of
teachers as part of the development of the national strategy on financial capability.


• Development of a business plan for the establishment of a major new Community Interest Company in the
health care sector.

• The production of the original operational plan for Excellence & Access, the major financial education
programme used in 300 English secondary schools.

• Training childminders from ethnic minority communities to run accredited childminding and day care
businesses.

• The production of a feasibility study on the delivery of financial capability through the use of a web site
as the learning medium.

• The evaluation of a national project on social inclusion.

• The design and production of a prototype coin recognition pack for young people with learning difficulties.

• Designing a pilot programme for developing financial capability in vulnerable young people in Wales.

• Supporting schools with planning for business and enterprise status.

• Contributing to guidance from the UK government Department for Education and Skills on how financial
capability contributes to personal and social education.

• The training of aspiring young entrepreneurs.

• The production of feasibility studies on the introduction of social enterprise in specific economic locations.
